Why is this such a vital aspect of every successful company?

It is my opinion that customer support shouldn't be a department or a role; it should be the entire company. Users drive the growth of an app which drives the growth of your company. Without users, an MVP is little more than a hobby. From bootstrapped startups all the way to Fortune 100 enterprise behemoths, customers are what keeps everyone employed. Period.
